FAQ
Training Questions
Is there an official S1000D certification?
No. S1000D has no governing-body certification for individuals: no exam, no license, no accredited register. Training courses, ours included, can document completion, but a certificate attests attendance, not accreditation, and any offer of an "official S1000D certification" deserves suspicion. Competence in S1000D is demonstrated in the CSDB, and building that working capability is what a course is for.
What is the difference between training and coaching?
Training is the course: a structured program that gives your team a shared model of the standard in days. Coaching is what comes after: an experienced practitioner working alongside your team on your own program, through the first business rules decisions, data modules, and validation failures, until the team runs it without help. Most teams need both, because the model and the fluency are learned in different places.
How is the training delivered?
Instructor-led, on site or remote, with participant workbooks and hands-on exercises built against your standard, your business rules, and your own content, not generic samples. Courses pair a shared foundation module for the whole team with a technical deep dive for the people who will work in the XML.
Can a course be tailored to our program?
That is the default, not an option. Curriculum is assembled per engagement around your standard and issue, your business rules, your toolchain, and your output formats, because the gap that training closes is between your people and your program, not between your people and a textbook.
Who should attend?
Structured content takes a whole team: the writers and authors who produce compliant content, the content managers and architects who design the system, the program managers who fund it and need to know what it costs, and the engineers whose output feeds it. The foundation module is built to give all four the same picture; the technical module goes deep with the first two.
