Who MIL-STD-40051-1 Applies To
MIL-STD-40051-1 applies when a U.S. Army contract or data item description cites Part 1 — that is, when the deliverable includes an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual. Many programs owe both parts, publishing interactive and page-based output from one authored source; which parts are cited changes the authoring and delivery scope, so confirm it before estimating.
Where MIL-STD-40051-1 Programs Go Wrong
- Building the IETM as a separate product from the page-based manual instead of a second output of one source — the change burden doubles permanently.
