What S2000M Means
S2000M stands for
International specification for materiel management
S2000M governs the movement of materiel information between manufacturers, suppliers and operators: what parts exist, how they are provisioned, ordered, and supported through life.
Its relevance to publications is direct and frequently missed. The quality of an illustrated parts catalog is decided upstream in the provisioning data. By the time it reaches the publication it is too late to fix cheaply, which is why parts data and narrative content belong in the same plan.
