What IPC Means
IPC stands for
Illustrated Parts Catalog
An IPC links exploded illustrations to part numbers so that a person looking at hardware can identify what they need. Its usefulness depends entirely on the accuracy of the relationship between the picture and the data.
Its quality is decided upstream in provisioning rather than in publishing. A parts list that disagrees with the part actually fitted sends the wrong item across the world before anyone notices.
