What EFB Means
EFB stands for
Electronic Flight Bag
The EFB replaced the paper flight bag, and with it the assumption that a crew's documents are static between revisions. Content reaches it on a schedule, and what is on the device at departure is what the crew will use.
That makes delivery and revision currency an operational matter rather than an administrative one: everything the crew needs has to be aboard, current, and provably so, before pushback.
Also written: electronic flight bag
