What DMC Means
DMC stands for
Data Module Code
A DMC is an address rather than a filename. Its segments encode the model the module belongs to, where the subject sits in the standard numbering system, which disassembly level and variant it concerns, and what kind of information it carries.
Because the address is structured, it is machine-readable: a system can select every procedural module for a given system without anyone maintaining a list. That is also why coding decisions made in the first weeks of a program echo for the life of the fleet, and why they belong in the business rules rather than in an individual author's habits.
